Among Penny’s many problems are not only panic attacks, but also acne, curly red hair, freckles, and severe clumsiness. Despite these flaws, a miracle happens once - Ollie invites Penny on a date.

Ex girlfriend and bad date

On the evening before the date, Penny helps her mother at the agency. Suddenly an American couple comes into the office, they want to order the organization of a wedding in New York. Things aren't going well at the agency, and Penny's parents happily agree.

A little later, Penny invites Megan to a "pajama party", hoping to revive the friendship that has faded since the girlfriend starred in commercials and imagines herself a great actress. The party is failing. Megan looks down at Penny, emphasizes her superiority in every way and does not want to delve into her problems.

Penny tells Megan about a date. She is shocked, she believes that no one will meet with someone like Penny.

The date also breaks down. Megan is there and forces Ollie to admit that he started everything just for the sake of good photos for his portfolio. Penny leaves.She is unpleasant and insulting, she understands that she grew out of children's friendship, decides to communicate only with people who are pleasant to her, writes about this on the blog and finds support from her subscribers.

They get to know each other. The guy’s name is Noah, he’s eighteen years old, he is the grandson of Sadie Lee and today he brought his grandmother to work.

Noah likes Penny and takes her for a walk around New York, serves lunch in a mysterious restaurant and has a picnic on the roof of Waldorf Astoria, where their first kiss takes place. They feel that a spiritual connection has arisen between them.

Finally, it turns out that the information was not leaked to the Internet by Elliot. He quarreled with his father, who realized that his son was gay, and could not communicate with Penny, because his father took his phone and laptop from him. In addition, he envied that Penny had a handsome guy and wonderful, understanding parents.

It turns out that he gave the girl to Ollie - he saw on her computer an open page of the blog, guessed everything and, together with Megan, sent a letter to “Watch the Stars”. Then, with the help of her parents, Penny Elliot reconciles with his father, who promises to get used to the son’s gay orientation.

Reconciliation

Penny and Noah take revenge on Megan and Ollie - doused them with a milkshake. Then Penny receives a letter from Watch the Stars offering money for an exclusive interview. In response, the angry girl writes the truth on her blog, and everyone who used to scold Paenny starts supporting and praising her. The girl understands how unsteady the online world is, where a friend can easily turn into an enemy.

This is a world in which people, without a twinge of conscience, hide behind computer screens and fictitious names in order to pour mud on people they don’t know at all.

Penny stops blogging, but Noah reads her last post and comes to explain herself. It turns out that his romance with the pop star is a marketing move that was supposed to boost CD sales. In fact, they are barely familiar. Noah also thought that Penny betrayed him - she sold their story to a gossip site.

Noah convinces Penny that he loves her, and they make peace. Noah puts on YouTube a video with the song "Autumn Girl".
