The story is narrated on behalf of sixteen-year-old Gloria.

Sunrise

Gloria lives in a small American town on the ocean. Her parents are going to get a divorce. Due to constant quarrels and scandals in the house, the girl's life becomes unbearable. She writes down the events of each day in a diary.

Gloria is unsociable. Her only friend is the gorgeous blonde Tezer, the most popular girl in school. Thanks to Tezer, Gloria is invited to the most elite parties. Clouding this long-standing friendship is that Gloria is in love with the Tezer-Matt guy.

At school, Gloria falls behind in almost all subjects, and the classroom, Miss Lawrence, threatens to visit the girl's parents.

After school, Gloria goes to her grandmother - the only loved one - and finds out that she is going to marry a 25-year-old guy. To inform this family, her grandmother makes an appointment in her old house by the lake, where Gloria fell in love with Adam at the age of eight, a boy about her age. The girl confessed his love to him, and Adam told his friends about it, and they tormented her with ridicule. For six years, resentment has not yet passed.

Grandmother introduces her fiancé to the family, and Gloria’s mother sets up a scandal. Gloria leaves, decides to swim in the lake and nearly dies, catching her foot on the net. Saves her pretty guy.

Gloria begins to meet a guy who soon admits that he is Adam - he recognized the girl and called himself by another name. The girl forgives him and invites him to a party that Tezer arranges.

Once again, quarreling with her mother, Gloria goes to a party hosted by Matt's friend and classmate, Nick, in honor of his birthday. At the party, Nick tries to rape Gloria, but she breaks his head with a glass of thick glass and runs away. In the morning, at school, Gloria learns that Nick nearly died of blood loss. Then she, Matt and Teser are interrogated by the director. Matt knows everything, but Gloria does not betray.

Upon returning home, Gloria discovers that her mother went into a binge. Miss Lawrence comes a bit later and meets the girl’s father.

Nick comes to his senses and blames Gloria. In response, she tells how he wanted to rape her. Matt defends Gloria and becomes Nick's enemy. That same evening, Gloria was stalked by strangers and threw a smoke bomb under her feet.

Cheating

Due to the visit of Miss Lawrence, Gloria's father begins to tightly control his daughter. Gloria understands that this is not love, but only a sense of duty.

Every day, Gloria throws strange letters into the school locker. The girl believes that Nick is trying to scare her.

In the evening, Adam arrives at Gloria, and she escapes from her father to a party at Tezer. On holiday is Nick. There is a fight between him and Matt. The party is hopelessly ruined. Teser blames Matt for this. He leaves, and Tezer gets drunk.

Gloria is trying to return home, but her parents do not let her in. The girl returns to the party and discovers Teser and Adam in bed.

In the morning, Gloria realizes that Matt does not know about the teaser. The girl despises her friend, but continues to shield her. The father, meanwhile, takes the phone from his daughter and forbids talking with friends.

In the evening, grandmother invites Gloria to go with her to Paris for a wedding dress.Gloria’s mother doesn’t let her go, she sets up a scandal and claims that she hated her daughter right after the birth. The girl collects things and moves to her grandmother.

Gloria flies to Paris with her grandmother and Teser. Instead of sightseeing, a girlfriend drags Gloria to a nightclub, where two scammers steal bags with documents and credit cards from girls.

Hit

In Paris, Tezer admits to Gloria that he is partial to Adam. Arriving home, the girl discovers that her mother again became affectionate and loving. It soon turns out that she fell into a religious sect. Gloria is trying to stop her mother, but she almost attacks her with a knife. The girl moves to live with Teser.

At school, Gloria learns that her father and Miss Lawrence have an affair. At the tip of Tezer, the girl begins to blackmail the teacher and skips her lessons with impunity. Gloria again scared friends Nick. Matt stands up for her and beats her former friend.

In the evening, Teser drags Gloria on a date with Adam, in a garage on the outskirts of the city, where he works. The date is for two, and Gloria leaves. On an empty street, Nick’s friends grab her and take her somewhere.

Sigh

Gloria is locked in the basement bunker with Matt. Soon, Nick appears and orders Matt to be beaten, until Gloria agrees to sleep with him. To avoid gang rape, the girl seriously injures herself. She is saved on time by Matt, who managed to get a gun and call the police. Nick is being arrested.

This incident brings Gloria and Matt together. He begins to look after the girl, but Gloria does not want to betray her friend.

Gloria's father is getting closer and closer to Lawrence than hurting his wife, who still loves him.

Gloria returns home and discovers that her mother began to take some pills.

Shards

Miss Lawrence and father are trying to convince Gloria that her mother is sick and should be put in a clinic. The girl believes that they want to get rid of her mother. However, Gloria soon notices that her mother began to drink again.

Once, leaving for a “cool party”, Gloria tells her mother that her father has a lover. Mother tries to commit suicide, but gets to the clinic, and Lawrence settles in the house of Gloria. The girl feels useless to anyone.

At a school ball, Tezer learns that Matt has an affair with Gloria. She beats her friend in front of everyone. Matt does not want to participate in the scandal and claims that he will soon leave to live in Canada. So Gloria loses her best friend and lover. She wants to throw herself off the bridge, but she is saved by a classmate - the inconspicuous little girl Chad. Gloria spends the night with him.

Flight

From this moment, the girl changes: dyes her hair in a bright blue color, changes her clothing style and behavior.

All this time, Gloria tossed anonymous letters into the school locker, but not threatening, but encouraging.

In the classroom of Gloria, a new student appears - the timid Rebecca. Gloria learns that Tezer is about to lead Rebecca through the ritual of newcomers. Together with Chad, she saves the new one from humiliation and beats her ex-girlfriend. Rebecca and Gloria become friends.

Escape

Lawrence tries to make friends with Gloria, intercedes for her in front of her father, who considers her daughter a whore. However, the girl does not believe in the sincerity of the future stepmother and treats her very rudely. She often visits her mother in a psychiatric clinic.

Gloria learns that Rebecca's father and younger brother died in a car accident, and meets her mother, who really does not like her daughter’s new girlfriend. Gloria is trying to distance herself from Rebecca so as not to drag her into trouble, but she does not succeed.

Tezer avenges Gloria - devotes the whole school to her family problems. In response, Gloria photographs Mother Tezer in bed with a young lover, sends some of the photos to her ex-girlfriend’s father, and hangs the rest in the school lobby. As a result, Tezer's parents get divorced.

Gloria is expelled from school. Father is going to send her to a military school for girls. Gloria quarrels with her father, he raises his hand at her, and the girl leaves the house.

Hanging around the streets, Gloria meets Alex, the lead singer of a roving rock band. Then the girl comes to Chad, whose parents are away, and stays with him. Having called himself a Teser, Gloria restores the credit card that was stolen from her in Paris and uses the money left on her.

Gloria falls in love with Chad, but soon discovers that he wrote her anonymous letters. Chad admits that he is obsessed with Gloria almost from childhood and constantly monitors her. Gloria decides that Chad is a maniac, and leaves him.

Together with Rebecca, she gets to a rock concert, where she meets Alex. He invites the girls to ride. Gloria agrees - she has nowhere to go - and Rebecca does not want to leave her alone.

Pleasure

Musicians take girls away from home. Rebecca is frightened and accuses Gloria of selfishness. The company travels around the country in a motorhome. Gloria first tries a drug and finds out that the police are looking for her.

Gloria is sorry that she pulled Rebecca into this adventure - what will happen to her friend when she commits suicide? Gloria persuades her to return home, she agrees and leaves.

Gloria learns that musicians are selling drugs and hiding weapons in a motorhome, but Alex explains that they are not drug dealers - all rock musicians do this. He felt that the girls were also outcasts, so he took them with him.

In one of the bars, Desmond, the leader of one of the large gangs, pesters to Gloria. The girl gives him a rebuff, because of which the whole gang attacks the company. They are saved by Rebecca, who returned and found a gun in the caravan.

Girls get used to Alex and the rest of the group - Jay and Steve. Gloria loves a free life, but she misses Chad and regrets not forgiving him.

Rebecca finds out that Gloria uses Tezer’s money, quarrels with her friend and leaves. Desmond takes advantage of this - kidnapping Rebecca and demanding a ransom. Gloria and the musicians save her.

Rebecca begins to like Jay, and Gloria likes Alex. The musician rejects Gloria, and she turns for solace to the womanizer Steve, who has been looking at her for a long time.

Pain

Alex's group is invited to perform at the wedding. Alex decides to sell the drug he had in his stash. All evening, Rebecca and Gloria sell LSD tablets.

In the dead of night, Alex and Gloria go to the roof to breathe fresh air, and in the meantime a police raid takes place in the building. They descend from the roof by a fire escape and steal a car. On the road, Alex, who managed to take the drug, “covers”, and the car falls into the river.

Gloria gets out of a drowned car, makes Alex an artificial respiration and brings him to his senses. Then they get to the nearest town for a long time. On the way, Alex says that he also ran away from his alcoholic father, leaving his mother and sister behind. Later, his parents burned down with the house, and he no longer met with his sister. Alex sees his sister in Gloria and wants to send her to her parents, but she flatly refuses.

All this time, Gloria feels severe pain and finally discovers that a piece of a windshield has stuck in her side. She takes out a splinter, but says nothing to Alex until she faints from blood loss. Alex calls the doctor, but then they have to run again.

Finally, the company is reunited. Now Alex is looking after Gloria and trying to convince her to give up suicide. As a woman, she does not interest him, and Gloria draws closer to Steve.

The fall

Gloria falls in love with Steve and begins to forget Chad.

The company rents two rooms in the best hotel and spends all the money left on the Tezer card.

Meanwhile, Alex disappears. It soon turns out that he was badly injured during the accident, but did not tell his friends about the injury, and drowned out the pain with cocaine. The drug is over, and Alex is in severe pain. Gloria decides to get him a “painkiller” in Albuquerque, where they must stop on the way to Las Vegas. Alex gives the girl the address of a private club.

Gloria buys a drug, but then gets into a police raid.Steve takes her out of the club, and the company tries to escape, but the police are chasing the camper. Friends decide to stage the accident and at full speed dump the motorhome into the river.

Hugs

All night, friends hide from the police in the woods, and then leave the state in an empty freight car. Of the property they only had a Gloria credit card.

Rebecca gets sick along the way. The company gets off the train in a California town. They buy medicine, food and settle on the beach. Gloria persuades Alex to go to his grandmother's house - perhaps his long-lost sister Danna lives there, who can help them.

Alex finds a sister who already has a baby. She agrees to shelter the company, but then tries to extradite them to the police, considering Alex and his friends criminals. Gloria catches her behind this and raises an alarm.

It turns out that Danna never forgave her brother for leaving her and leaving to travel around the USA. She gives her friends a car, the address of a person who can rent a house, and asks them to leave.

Friends rent a house on the outskirts of the city and live quietly and happily for a while. Gloria enjoys the love of Steve, who begins to think about family and children, and Rebecca and Jay also begin an affair.

Alex recalls a man who owes him a large sum. He hopes to get a debt, buy a motorhome, musical instruments and return to his former life.

Wreck

Debtor Alex makes an appointment with him. Steve offers Gloria to take his share of the money and settle separately from the company. Gloria agrees, but Alex does not want to let her go - he is afraid that the girl will commit suicide. Alex's sister says the police are looking for them all over the city. The next day they leave.

Friends come to meet the debtor, but he hands them to the leader of the gang, Desmond, who wants to take revenge on them. Desmond declares that he needs Gloria, and orders to beat the guys with a bat. The bandit is going to shoot Gloria, but then Rebekah, who has disappeared somewhere, appears for a while. She tries to protect her friend, and Desmond shoots her. Rebecca is dying.

Arriving police arrest everyone. Guys go to jail for drug trafficking, and Gloria is released on bail by her father, who comes for his daughter with Lawrence. The girl begins to understand that the future stepmother cares for her better than her mother, and she becomes ashamed. The father has not changed - he is still rude to his daughter. Gloria is convinced that he was looking for her only out of a sense of duty.

Gloria returns home. A lawyer hired by her father advises the girl to put herself on trial as a victim of a gang of drug dealers, otherwise she would face a juvenile colony. Gloria refuses - she loves Alex, Steve and Jay and does not want to denigrate them.

All this time, Gloria is under guard. One of the guards hands her a letter from Alex. Chad visits Gloria, but the girl does not want to spoil the guy’s life and chases him away. The girl understands that nobody needs her - even her grandmother refused her.

I'm flying

Gloria visits her mother and finds out that she does not know anything about the adventures of her daughter. She has already been cured and is going to leave with her lover - the brother of her ex-husband. She doesn’t need a daughter.

Then Gloria comes to Rebecca's funeral. The mother of the murdered girlfriend calls the girl a murderer and curses her.

Gloria puts up with Chad and ex-girlfriend Tezer, who continues to meet with Adam. Listening to school gossip, Gloria realizes that she too could have a normal life, but she spoiled everything herself. Visits Gloria and Matt, but the girl no longer needs him.

Gloria decides to gather everyone for a farewell dinner.

At night, Gloria leaves home. In the morning, native girls learn about her death. They find her diary in Gloria’s room and do not even realize that her suicide is a staging.

In his letter, Alex asked Gloria not to commit suicide, but simply to stage him.He left the girl the address of a reliable person who will help her start a new life.

Gloria follows Alex's advice. Only Chad knows the truth, with whom she decides to say goodbye. Gloria will become a different person, wait for the release of her beloved and take revenge on Desmond.
