(322 words) The novel by Mikhail Afanasevich Bulgakov “The Master and Margarita” is one of the author’s mysterious works, which has been prepared for more than a year. In the book, the author raises many topics for which there is no unequivocal view, and therefore readers are still enthusiastically studying the writer's legacy. For example, creativity is one of the key topics that is revealed throughout the whole narrative and presented from unexpected angles.
The three main characters associated with creativity are the editor Berlioz, a poet by the name of Homeless and the protagonist Master. At the beginning of the novel, the writer introduces the reader to Berlioz, for whom creativity is recognition, fame and narcissism. In it, he develops as an employee of any company - seeks awards and ranks, perceiving them as another promotion. For these "bows," the state requires him to be vigilant in monitoring writers so that the editor can ideologically influence them and promote the ideas of the party. That is why the poems of the poet Homeless have no real artistic value. He tries to prove himself by working under the pressure of the “template” that Berlioz imposed on him, but with an honest look at the problem, he admits that his works are monstrous. There is no creativity in them, but one blind crush on the reader's mind. Blind, because the "creator" himself does not realize how they manipulate him.
Only Masters can fully be called the only creative person. No wonder Margarita called her lover so. After reading the novel, she understood the whole essence and depth of the text. She considered the book the greatest creation. But it did not carry political meaning, so criticism attacked the work and destroyed the Master’s faith in itself. He lost his hands, ceased to be aware of his talent and sought to reveal it. In a fit of despair, the writer burned his brainchild, but, as you know, "manuscripts do not burn." Real art cannot be simply taken and destroyed.
In his novel, Bulgakov showed true and false creativity. The homeless person realized what kind of poetry he wrote, and what kind of poet he was. Berlioz died tragically, never being convinced of the fallacy of his judgment. The master found eternal peace alone with muse and inspiration. Thus, the writer showed the reader three examples, and only one of them is a true Master of his craft.
